Bug#60924: HTTP file retreival does not work.

Well, I found some time to run through a new install again with
the 2.2.9 boot-floppies. I'm sorry to say, Karl, that trying
2.2.9 didn't do the trick.

I tried two different proxies when I tested the 2.2.9
boot-floppies install.

1. This proxy does not allow you to see all of the requests that
are being made, so all I can report are the error messages that
net-fetch gave me again.

nf_http_read :: read : Connection reset by peer.
nf_http_fetchfile :: file download failed, HTTP OK not received
Download of file base2_2.tgz failed.

I tried to get it to work several times, and I moved around my
proxy port as well. No go.

2. This program allows you to see every request that is being
made at any time. What happened when I tried to download
base2_2.tgz through this proxy is that it made a request of
'http://' and that was it. It stuck there until the proxy timed
out 60 seconds later.

nf_http_fetchfile :: file download failed, HTTP OK not received

I really needed to get some C++ stuff done, so I completed the
install, pulled down all of the packages I needed and got them
running, and I don't think I'm going to do a re-install on the
machine that I have running now - I already have ftp/www
running, configured and the web files up that I wanted to
publish.

However, I was thinking of installing Debian onto a machine
that's faster than the current proxy for better performance. I
will most likely set it up inside my network through the
existing proxy first, so I could test some more sets of
diskettes, if you would like me to.

Rob
