DAC960: Assertion 'partition->name' failed.

Package: util-linux
Version: 2.10f-3
Severity: critical

Sorry but I'm not sure if this problem concern the boot-disk or just
fdisk.

I'm curently testing a VALinux server with Potato. I used Potato
boot-disk 2.2.9.

I configured the server with RAID 5. The server is using the Mylex
DAC960PRL card. The four 9 Go drives are freshly initialised with the
firmware RAID utility.

I boot with the rescue disk and next insert the boot disk. The system
asked to partition the array and I did it. The partionning seem to be
fine. I write the new partition table to disk, I exit fdisk and I get:

dbbootstrap: fdisk.c: 547: fdisk_add_partition: Assertion
'partition->name' failed.

This message "cut" the gui installation screen and nothing can be done
else reboot the server with CRTL-ALT-DEL. At the second reboot, I alway
get the same message and nothing can be done. NO way to go back to the
paritionning menu. The install process is stopped by the message just at
the installation welcome message.

After that, the fdisk software from the RedHat 6.0 VALinux CD shipped
with the server was not longer able to use the device (error message 'no
space left on drive'!!!). I've initialised again the drives with the RAID
tool and installed back the original RedHat VALinux distribution. The
partition was well created using the VALinux tools.

Finaly, I used the RedHat to build the right partitions for my needs
using the RedHat VALinux tools and installed base Potato later with the
boot-disk.
