I see no place in the base installation phase where I can select ppp for
execution in base-config. Could we set this up so that it happens during
the network configuration and do it in such a way that we can have both
the network setup and the PPP configuration both happen?

I figured that out once I tried the "advanced" method.

I'm still likely to move to apt for myself. It looks quite useful now.
