Sorry, you're right. `modprobe ne' does in fact work. Actually, having
installed some more packages, and rebooted again, everything works correctly
on boot-up now - the options are picked up in the normal start up. Still my
initial installation problems remain, though - I've just re-tested it on
another partition, giving exactly the same problem.
Adam Di Carlo <adam@onshore.com> says that my original bug is being marked
as closable in 2.2.9, and that I should re-submit the new bug. As I
mentioned to him, I seem to be a version behind with the boot-floppies
anyway, so I'll wait until I have a chance to download the latest version
before re-testing and resubmitting this, as you might already have fixed
this.
