You do not understand the magnatude of the problem, even if you make a
boot disk with a DAC960 driver, it will STILL not install because dies not
recognise the /dev/rd/* devices as valid install candidates without
hacking around in the boot floppy source code. Building a kernel with
dac960 support will simply result in an install that tells you that you
have no hard disks.
