Good Morning, I have an Am5x86-P75-ADW on a UM8810P-AIO with 128 MByte Ram and four US Robotics Courier I-Modem and like to run this ensemble under Debian Squeeze with Linux 2.6.32. As HDD replacement I use a PATA=>SD Adapter. The question is now, how can I convnce Squeeze, to use tmpfs instead of /tmp? Wher must I set it up? I mean, if I run "mount" I cn see: ----[ command 'ssh -l root acc128.intranet1.tamay-dogan.net mount' ]---- /dev/hda1 on / type ext2 (rw) tmpfs on /lib/init/rw type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,mode=0755) proc on /proc type proc (rw,noexec, nosuid, nodev) sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw,noexec, nosuid, nodev) udev on /dev type tmpfs (rw,mode=0755) tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw,nosuid, nodev) devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,noexec,nosuid,gid=5,mode=620) /dev/sda2 on /tmp type ext2 (rw) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ For security reason, I like to mount the SD card read-only, ecxactly, I use the small "lock" switch o the adapter to write protect the SD card. Heyguys, can you tell me, whether there is a Squeeze HOWTO, how to setup a full system on a read-only media? I have already REMOVED (!!!) removed /tmp and /var/log but I get tonns of errors, even rsyslog does not more write to /var/log Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening Michelle Konzack -- ##################### Debian GNU/Linux Consultant ###################### Development of Intranet and Embedded Systems with Debian GNU/Linux Internet Service Provider, Cloud Computing <http://www.itsystems.tamay-dogan.net/> <http://www.debian.tamay-dogan.net/> itsystems@tdnet Jabber linux4michelle@jabber.ccc.de Owner Michelle Konzack Gewerbe Strasse 3 Tel office: +49-176-86004575 77694 Kehl Tel mobil: +49-177-9351947 Germany Tel mobil: +33-6-61925193 (France) USt-ID: DE 278 049 239 Linux-User #280138 with the Linux Counter, http://counter.li.org/
