A stable update don't require "severe" bugs really. I can't say anything about freecad and the bugs fixed in its bugfix releases. But I try to keep debian stable (and oldstable) with current upstream point/stable/bugfix releases of a few packages I maintain. Some of the updates fixes "important" bugs in debian BTS, some don't have references in debian BTS at all, but it's almost always a good list of issues fixed from release to release. This includes samba and qemu packages, for example. Thanks, /mjt
