I know nothing about sssd and don't use it in any way, so have no idea even how to verify if it works or not.
Just for info and highlighting the service [0] once again: sssd has an autopkgtest and already for several years autopkgtest runs for backports are automatically scheduled on amd64 and arm64 [1]. In this case samba triggered sssd runs [2], and it shows the issue in the logs. (Unfortunately the fallback in autopkgtest to try and work around installability issues installed the wrong version of samba-libs and hence the test passed, but we hope to improve that fallback soonish to avoid removing the apt pin for the package under test).
Paul PS: is anybody ever using that service? [0] https://lists.debian.org/debian-backports/2021/09/msg00008.html [1] https://release.debian.org/britney/excuses_backports-stable.html[2] https://ci.debian.net/packages/s/sssd/stable/amd64/ search for samba/2:4.20.4+dfsg-1~bpo12+1
