This is an important point to keep in mind, indeed.  I was surprised to
hear the argument that a package is not accepted into debian because its
maintainer have too many packages.  But we also need to have focus on
sharing the load and reducing the bus factor to reduce the risk for
Debian as a whole.

A nice way to show that he is not alone is to add more names as
uploaders of the package, and to maintain the packages as part of a team
with more than one member.  Perhaps if you get your name into the
uploaders list, it become more obvious to the rest of us that the bus
fact is higher than is feared?
