Re: Bug#717308: please remove or update to 5.2.X both sources, dkms and gui/cli

Hello,

>sorry and pardon me! but what kind of respionse are that? currently jessie are LTS and since wheeze backports are now included as normal repositories (lower >priority of course)
>in any case! none of the virtualbox package work with the backported kernels! some devices for jessie need the backported kernel and the problem ARE NOT IN THE >KERNEL are in the virtualbox package and the solution its only repackaged the virtualbox_5.1.8-dfsg-7.dsc to jessie that not require mayor changes (as per noted in >the changelog)

the problem is POLICY, not what I want.
Virtualbox is not part of *stretch*, so I can't with policy backport patches to jessie-backports anymore.
You are right by saying that 5.1.8-dfsg-7 is a safe bet wrt the current 5.1.8-dfsg-6 in jessie backports, but
policy forbids me to do this, so unless some backports ftpmasters ack that trivial patch, I can't do backports work.

And stretch should be *fine*, not *broken* to me.

backports ftpmasters, can I please upload a trivial patch that has been part of stretch, but removed later because of a request I made?

thanks!

Gianfranco
