I'm not sure it's actually a bug.  There were some security changes in 53
that caused a lot of people problems (not sure why they're not more
broadly reported).  Supposedly they backed off the changes with the next
build, but Debian ended up with the difficult one.  It causes certificate
warnings on valid sites and breaks css within the sites.

There may be a fix or a workaround I haven't found yet.
