In addition to Boris' suggestions for firmware and microcode, please
consider installing the following:

linux-image-4.4.0-0.bpo.1-amd64
linux-headers-4.4.0-0.bpo.1-amd64

I had a variety of major issues with Linux-4.3.x on my Thinkpad X220,
all of which were solved by moving the linux-4.4. Also, if you would
rather track the most recent backported kernel you can try: apt-get
install -t jessie-backports linux-image-amd64 linux-headers-amd64. I
don't do this, because I don't like the surprises it can bring.

Best of luck,
Nicholas
