Please backports claws-mail, the stable version has serious imap bugs
Hello,
Perhaps this is not helpful but I'd like to request
that claws-mail be available in jesse-backports.
The version currently in Jessie has some pretty
serious race conditions in it's imap handling.
These can not only cause corruption of the local
imap cache but also cause mail to be mis-filed
into the wrong mailbox when moving mail out of
the inbox.
No, I've not reported this to the bts. They are
race conditions and hard to reproduce. I have
worked with upstream to try to resolve the issues.
The Claws Mail version 3.13.2 now in stretch/sid
does not seem to have the problems, although I make
no promises.
I backported to test this but cannot presently be
responsible for watching upstream for security problems
on an ongoing basis, as is required of an official backporter.
Note that in order to backport claws-mail 3.13.2,
there must also be a backport of libgdata19
(to 0.17.4-1, which shows up as a binary package
named libgdata22, and another binary gir1.2-gdata-0.0_0.17.4-1),
and libetpan17 (to 1.6-1). Further, building requires
libuhttpmock-dev_0.5.0-1 be backported.
Regards,
Karl <kop@meme.com>
