Re: Handbrake not installable due to missing dependencies

Hi Mads,

I'm not sure if you're subscribed to debian-backports; cc-ing you in
case you aren't (please subscribe to the list!).

Since you're the maintainer of handbrake in wheezy-bpo, have you tried
taking a stab at fixing this? I'm happy to sponsor you if you've
prepared a fixed package.

I've briefly tried to backport the current version of handbrake in
jessie (0.9.9+svn6422+dfsg1-2) to wheezy-backports; after adjusting
the build-dep version constraints so that dependencies would be
satisfied in a wheezy+wheezy-bpo chroot (i.e. liba52-0.7.4-dev (>=
0.7.4-17) to (>= 0.7.4-17~), and  yasm (>= 1.2) to (>= 1.2~)),
handbrake still FTBFS (looks like libgtk-3-dev might be too old in
wheezy?). I don't think backporting gtk3 is a likely option; unless
you fix this in some other way, maybe we should consider removing this
package from wheezy-bpo?

Build log attached.

Regards,
Vincent
