Newer non-default glibc in backports? was: Re: Pepperflashplugin in backport does not work

More a general question:

Wouldn't it be possible to make a backport of a newer glibc, and use it
as a non-default glibc with a mechanism where a package can choose to
use this newer glibc?  E.g. with use of the "export LD_LIBRARY_PATH"
environment variable.
