The package xen-utils-3.2, version 3.2.0-3~bpo4+1 should depend libxenstore3.0. The backported package (perhaps due to an older debhelper or devscripts used to build the package) doesn't have the dependency. The package on lenny have the correct dependency. Xend doesn't starti if libxenstore30 is missing, so it doesn't work at all. Bye, Emilio
