Thanks for the backport, Norbert. I had one problem with that kernel, though: my scanner (Epson Perfection 2480 Photo) stopped working (using the precompiled .deb for k7 processors). I backported sane-backends from sid, which didn't help. Then, I installed the precompiled 2.6.24 .deb from sid (-686 flavor), and the problem went away.
