PostgreSQL v8.1 on Sarge v3.1r2 problem

Hi,

This is my first time trying to use Backports. I would like to install PostgreSQLv8.1 onto a Sarge v3.1r2 server. I've burned the Sarge iso's onto CD's.

The problem is the lsb-base and the ssl-cert requires a newer version than the cd's. I've tried it using synaptic and also apt-get.

The script for apt-get is as follows:

primacare4:~# apt-get install postgresql-8.1

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
postgresql-8.1: Depends: postgresql-common (>= 39) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

primacare4:~# apt-get install postgresql-common
