Re: Accepted nagios2 2.4-0bpo1 (source i386 all)

Hi Pietro!

why its nessesary to depend on cpp and gcc?

nagios2:~# aptitude -t sarge-backports install nagios2
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree
Reading extended state information
Initializing package states... Done
Reading task descriptions... Done
The following NEW packages will be automatically installed:
  cpp cpp-3.3 fping gcc gcc-3.3 libc6-dev libmysqlclient14
  libmysqlclient14-dev libnet-snmp-perl libperl5.8 libpq3 libradius1
  nagios-images nagios-plugins nagios-plugins-basic nagios-plugins-standard
  nagios2-common nagios2-doc ntpdate qstat radiusclient1 samba-common
  smbclient snmp zlib1g-dev

nagios2:~# aptitude install nagios2

  nagios-plugins nagios-plugins-basic nagios-plugins-standard
  nagios2-common nagios2-doc ntpdate qstat radiusclient1 samba-common
  smbclient snmp

This are the additional depencies:
cpp cpp-3.3 gcc gcc-3.3 libc6-dev libmysqlclient14 libmysqlclient14-dev
zlib1g-dev

It may a security risk to have compilers installed (cpp and gcc), so I would
love to not have depencies to it. Is there any relevant reason todo so?

Thanks and with kind regards, Jan.
