KDE 3.5 Problem

Forgive me if I am being a little stupid...I just moved over to Debian 
recently after many years of Mandrake and Redhat....

I uploaded KDE 3.5 from Backports, and found that the install messed up my 
KMenu pretty badly. I am running Debian 3.1r1 for 32 bit machines.

I have at least one folder that are now duplicated, and a whole bundle of apps 
in Lost & Found, not to mention a pretty useless Control Center, and Settings 
submenu.

Is there anyway to recreate the 3.5 Kmenu the way it should be? Or am I stuck 
having to deal with it by hand?
