Well, the Debian Astro team is just forming and there was some
discussion recently on Debian Science list. I think the first step is
to apply for membership in the debian-astro project on alioth and inject
your package into the Debian Astro Git. I think the project is quite
new and there is no finished team policy. You might be able to apply
the policies of some other teams (like Debian GIS) but I guess you will
get immediate help on the debian-astro mailing list (where you should
probably subscribe when you are packaging astronomy software).

For sure I think that this should go as well into Debian Astro team
maintenance (since I bet it will be pure fun to belong to a great
team).

Kind regards

        Andreas.
