What current NAS platform is recommended for installing Debian?

Hi,

I'm looking at buying a cheap 2-bay NAS to install Debian onto.

The QNAP TS-21X units are quite good, but are a little dated.

I then saw the Seagate Personal Cloud - however, apparently these are also a bit dated:

Martin says there he does not recommend the Seagate's for new purchases.

However, I'm curious - what platforms or units do people recommend these days?
