Yes, it would be great if you could check that the patch still
applies, that it does indeed fix the package build, and post that info
back to the debian bug (not bugzilla, but I assume you meant 'the bug
system' here). It's a good idea to check that the fix for arm64
doesn't break the build on x86 (by doing a native build too).

'Works' in this case is largely a matter of 'builds on arm64, where it
didn't build before). Testing package functionality is harder if the
build itself does not run tests. I would not worry too much about that
unless it it very easy to test.

of stuff you've checked.
