Not sure what you mean here. u-boot needs to be told to pass an fdt
(which must already be in RAM) by passing the address as the third
argument to bootm or bootz. If you don't have an initrd (the second
argument) then use "-".

For some of these plug devices the factory u-boot is buggy wrt cache
maintenance which makes kernels from the last year or two fail to boot.
I don't know if that applies to the sheevaplug or not, but it does to
e.g. dreamplug and other marvel based things so it's not impossible that
it does.
