Choose kernel in NSLU2

Hi,

I have several kernels in NSLU2 with debian installed (squeeze):

$ dpkg -l "linux-image*" |grep "ii"
ii linux-image-2.6-ixp4xx 2.6.32+29 Linux 2.6 for IXP4xx (meta-package) ii linux-image-2.6.26-2-ixp4xx 2.6.26-26lenny2 Linux 2.6.26 image on IXP4xx ii linux-image-2.6.32-5-ixp4xx 2.6.32-38 Linux 2.6.32 for IXP4xx
xan@caixa:~$

and

$ uname -a
Linux caixa 2.6.32-5-ixp4xx #1 Mon Oct 3 12:19:10 UTC 2011 armv5tel GNU/Linux

I want to know:

a) how can I choose that other linux version boots my system: dpkg-reconfigure what? b) can I follow the general howto to build my own kernel and make dpkg -i my-kernel.deb ?

I'm interested, overall, in (a).

Thanks in advance,
Xan.
