Actually I noticed something else with 2.2.12 also.  It runs
significantly slower than 2.2.10.  I use no debugging symbols, or
anything else obvious that should slow it down.  The command 'top'
regularly eats up 10% CPU by itself, while it used require some 2%
with 2.2.10.  I run 'omirrd', which normally slows down the machine a
bit the first few minutes after powerup -- with 2.2.12, that process
takes about 2-3 times as long.

Nevertheless it has been uploaded to master.debian.org, and should
probably appear in APT/Dselect a few days.
