I could immediately reproduce your ASoC error by installing the minimal (console) version of Debian, then cinnamon using tasksel. I think the issue is you didn't install the asahi-platform package. If you didn't, please do and report back.

The minimal version of Debian distributed by the Bananas Team only comes with the asahi-platform-core (needed for boot) and asahi-platform-nvram (needed for nvram manipulation) packages preinstalled. There's a third platform package -- asahi-platform-audio -- which is needed by the audio stack and which we only install in the GNOME and KDE images. To install a desktop on top of the console version, you must also install the asahi-platform package, which pulls in asahi-platform-audio with it. My bad for not telling you earlier :-) This will all be documented once we have documentation.
