Current /etc/apache2/apache2.conf reads at the end:
Include sites-enabled/
SUGGESTION
Some editors leave behind back up files (e.g Emacs, Joe), so the
following suggested default would be safer.
# Do not consider files that:
# - start with a dot (Emacs version control)
# or comment marker (Emacs auto save copy)
# - end in comment marker (Emacs auto save), or tilde (Emacs backup)
Include sites-enabled/[^.#]*[^~#]

/etc/apache2/mods-enabled/)

Four lines above, it reads:
# Include of directories ignores editors' and dpkg's backup files,
# see README.Debian for details.
This is a Debian specific patch. You are not the first to suggest the
change of the configuration, but it is not necessary and wouldn't help
for *.dpkg-old anyway. Do you have any suggestion how to make the
comment stand out more?
