Package: apache-common
Version: 1.3.9-14.1

Every time I upgrade apache (numerous times on numerous systems for
several years), I have had to manually fix suexec.

Because suexec assumes all CGIs are under /var/www. But it is very common
for CGIs to be under /home too.

Please consider fixing apache-common package so suexec's docroot is "/"
(everything).

The error message:
[2002-07-10 14:51:25]: error: command not in docroot
 (/home/b/bsdnewsletter.com/public_html/whatever/something.cgi)

This is apache-common 1.3.9-14.1. I am using Debian Linux 2.2, kernel
2.2.14, and libc 2.1.3-20 (not that that matters).

You filed the bug http://bugs.debian.org/69818 in Debian BTS
against the package apache-common. I'm closing it at *unstable*, but it will
remain open for older distributions.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/418266. That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
