The fix used in testing/unstable is too invasive for a stable point 
release.

You can change the grep in the init script to suite your needs and the 
change will not be overwritten on upgrades since the init script is a 
config file. I think that is an acceptable solution for people who 
use a non-standard setup of storing log files in /etc.
