This was not reported by other people and I, for once, have a working
installation (without hand-holding, simply apt-getting it). Until you
are able to give us some way to reproduce these problems, I assume it's
a local problem on your side. Please file bugs in the future with some
more basic information (used versions, used configuration files, at
least).
