Bug#398223: Same problem since update to apache 2.2.3
I've the exact same problem, which came up after an update to 2.2.3.
(about 4 weeks ago) The configuration was right the same as with the
last apache version (2.0.54 I think), including mod_jk, mod_python,
mod_php5, mod_proxy and standard modules (digest, basic auth, rewrite
etc.).
As I noticed in the logs the shutdown occurs weekly the same time
(see the logs below). There are no additional hints on the error in
the custom.log.

I'm not that familiar with Debian, I would present more information
about system (i.e. cron) configuration if you give some simple hints
on how to get them.
