Bug#308483: apache-modconf: use conf.d style directory instead of autogenerated file
Package: apache
Version: 1.3.33-2
Severity: wishlist

hi,
it would be nice if apache-modconf used a conf.d style directory
instead of an autogenerated "do not edit this file, even though it's
in /etc" type file. this would make things less fragile overall,
and would also make things more in the spirit of FHS/policy.
imo, it wouldn't be too hard to do this, and one would only need to:
- - include /etc/$apache/modules.d in httpd.conf
- - change apache-modconf to add/remove indivdual, per-module files in
there
- - put a hook in apache-modconf to detect the previous autogenerated
file, and automatically (perhaps with a prompt) migrate the configs
to the new directory.
