Package: subversion
Version: 1.0.6-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,

since today, i cannot use subversion and svn-buildpackage anymore.
"svn up" fails on powerpc with:
svn: Valid UTF-8 data
(hex: 10 12)
followed by invalid UTF-8 sequence
(hex: e7 58)

same problem on i386 with the sid version. Reads as follows on i386:
svn: Valid UTF-8 data
(hex:)
followed by invalid UTF-8 sequence
(hex: 89 45 f8 83)

On alpha i get only a segfault.
Running the sarge svn is ok though (checked i386).
When running svn-buildpackage i get various weird results about
some invalid UTF-8 sequence. For example svn-buildpackage on i386 gives:
rm -rf patch-stamp patch-stampT debian/patched
svn: Valid UTF-8 data
(hex:)
followed by invalid UTF-8 sequence
(hex: 89 45 f8 83)
E: found unresolved issues:

 ? svn_io_get_dirents

E: Resolve them manually before continueing

I've tried downgrading the i386 host to the 1.0.5 versions, but without
success.. any idea what's wrong and where this is coming from? Or even
better how to solve it?
I'm trying to build the pkg-voip asterisk/trunk (revision 176). If you
want,give it a try. It's
svn://pkg-voip.alioth.debian.org/svn/pkg-voip/asterisk/trunk/

Please let me know if you need more info.

These bugs were fixed in NMUs by me which are, apparently, no longer
considered NMUs because I'm now part of the apache2 maintenance team.
