Bug#264645: Directory listing stops at large file

Package: apache2
Severity: normal
Version: 2.0.50-7

ii apache2 2.0.50-7 Next generation, scalable, extendable web se
ii apache2-common 2.0.50-7 Next generation, scalable, extendable web se
ii apache2-mpm-wo 2.0.50-7 High speed threaded model for Apache2

Apache seems to read directory entries in unsorted order, but stops when
encounters a large file, then sorts the subset of the list that it did
read. Even if it is broken and needs to skip large files, certainly it
shouldn't break completely when encountering them?

The following example exhibits the problem as well, though it is not on
the (internal) server that is reported above:

ian@nonce:~/public_html/apachebug$ ls -l --sort=none
total 2666492
-rw-r--r-- 1 ian ian 0 Aug 9 14:56 1
-rw-r--r-- 1 ian ian 2727814144 Aug 9 14:59 2
-rw-r--r-- 1 ian ian 0 Aug 9 14:59 3
