Bug#236509: apache2-common: Remove /etc/apache2/magic as a magic.mime file is provided by libmagic1
Package: apache2-common
Version: 2.0.48-7
Severity: minor
Why do we need a separate mime magic file when libmagic1 already installs one.
Couldn't mime_magic.conf be changed to point at /usr/share/misc/file/magic.mime?
If you don't want to make libmagic a dependancy then why not split the magic files into a separate package which both apache and libmagic could depend on?
hadron:/etc/apache2# ls /etc/apache2/magic
/etc/apache2/magic
hadron:/etc/apache2# dpkg -S /usr/share/misc/file/magic.mime
libmagic1: /usr/share/misc/file/magic.mime
