When installing php4 debconf is aksing if to restart apache.
In both cases the installation hangs after restarting apache when chosen
or directly after the question.
The same happens when just configuring the package:
root@dune:~/public_html# dpkg --configure php4
Setting up php4 (4.3.3-3) ...
Restarting apache.
<-- here the installation is hanging. only way to go ahead is aborting
dpkg: error processing php4 (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script killed by signal (Interrupt)
Errors were encountered while processing:
php4
it seems that there is a error in the post-installation script.
Please inform me when I can install php4 cleanly ;-)
