Bug#219973: apache: eats lots of memory
Package: apache
Version: 1.3.27.0-2
Severity: normal
This report is rather incomplete because I cannot reproduce
the bug, and am only forwarding the available data. However I'd like
it to stay in the database for reference, maybe someone has seen
similar behaviour.
Apache on a fresh testing installation on an Ultra 5 sometimes eats
lots of memory:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
18028 www-data 17 0 1120m 163m 696 R 11.9 66.4 64:01.64 apache
5 root 14 0 0 0 0 R 11.3 0.0 3:58.46 kswapd
The machine has
Mem: 251968
Swap: 1048304
Load average grew up to about 11, and the sysadmin restarted the daemon
then.
