Package: apache-perl
Version: 1.3.24-2-1.26-1-1
Severity: normal

When trying to execute cgi-scripts in public_html directories apache-perl failsi
with an internal server error and writes the followin in
/var/log/apache-perl/error_log:

failed to open log file
fopen: No such file or directory
[Tue May 7 11:32:31 2002] [error] [client 147.29.111.146] Premature end of script headers: /home/brother/public_html/cgi-bin/foo.pl

The reason is that suexec tries to log into /var/log/apache/suexec.log
which it can't do because /var/log/apache doesn't exists. Creating
/var/log/apache resolves the problem.

apache-perl should either make the directory where suexec tries to log
or provide it's own version of suexec.

This bug could probally go as an important bug.

Since apache-perl 1.3.27.1-2 apache-perl is a standalone package and it
ships everything that is needed. I am closing this bug now since i didn't
notice it at upload time.
