I am running

root@duop:~# cat /proc/version

I noticed a glitch in upgrading k3b recently 
(unfortunately, I did not save the error messages).

I removed k3b and attempted to re-install it:

root@duop:~# apt-get install k3b
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Is this a matter for waiting, or is there something I can 
do (as a user)?
