ia32-apt-get: How this is tuppodes to be used???
Hi to every one,
I have been a testing+Sid+experimental user for a long time
(almost ten years), but now with ia32-apt-get things gets really
confuse for me.
I do the steps as I read on documentation shipped with the
ia32-apt-get package (/usr/share/doc.../README.Debian) everything
seams to right until a try to use apt-get/aptitude after the 'apt-get
update'.
The ia32-apt-get try to mess packages from i386 with amd64. Ok, I
known that some times this must be done (skype, google-chrome, etc...)
but 'WHY' apt-get/aptitude try to install fglrx-source from
i386(1:9-6-2) on amd64(1:9-5-1) architecture, just upgrade from on
arch to another? Need I do some pin (apt_preferences) on packages
sources list?
I really just want to install ia32(i386) packages when I
explicitely 'say' to do that (libs to make skype and google-chrome run
properly), not in any run of apt-get/aptitude. So...What I must to do
to make my system work of this manner?
Everything is going crazy, really crazy on my system. I have
'large' experience living on the edge, this is, mixing testing with
unstable with experimental (KDE 3.5, KDE4, newest untested
kernels,etc...) but now the thing is going really hard to manage.
Anyone has some idea/suggestion?
Thank all you!
ps: really sorry whit my english, but I am in hurry to acomplish some
other task.
