Hi, I grabbed nvidia-kernel-source[a] and nvidia-glx[b] from [1] a.nvidia-kernel-source_173.14.09-5_amd64.deb b.nvidia-glx_173.14.09-5_amd64.deb 1.http://http.us.debian.org/debian/pool/non-free/n/nvidia-graphics-drivers/ First installed kernel sources 173 then ran m-a as described before, installed nvidia-glx and everything went fine. The thing that has to be noticed is to get the kernel-sources that are compatible with xorg. Len, thank you for your suggestion. The wiki helped a lot on this issue too. Thanks to all.
