I tried reinstalling it a bit:

debian:/etc/apt# apt-get install grace6

If you try to eject the DVD here it says I do not have the permission to do it......

I commented out the sid repositories in my apt source file to try to stop the kernel being upgraded every five minutes:

I have been doing system upgrades as prompted but only for Lenny not Sid recently....

Could this be a source of the grace installation problem?
