is enough for me, but but Gnome's totem plays DVDs just fine and maybe
some KDE user will post his/her favorite KDE DVD playing app.

Last time I saw ogle (winter 2005?) it looked a bit outdated. It
supports DVD menus, though.

Looks like some kind of DVD copy "protection". Have a look at the DVD
backcover, it should be mentioned there.
