The original poster said something about a small webserver and "sql once
he learned it" :)
Besides for a DB with >4GB the filesystem performance is not very relevant
either as you usually don't create/delete/move files here but only work
inside (big) tablespace files and thus only affected by disk drive and bus
performance.
