I've remarked the segfault also but related to esound update.
I've opened a bug on this topic.
This occured with change from 0.26-1 to 0.36-2
Marked as fixed in 0.26-3 but I had to revert to 0.26-1 
(I'm not _sure_ of the versions as I'm not @gome)
