I haven't tried hooking up my wife's HP inkjet (I think it is a psc1350)
to linux, but I think if I was going to I would use hpijs or maybe
gimpprint (or whatever the name is now).

Certainly www.linuxprinting.org says the psc1310 works with hpijs.  Not
sure if the 1315 wouldn't be similar at least.
