I've noticed 1 or 2 historical threads here on Azureus.

I'm trying to run the latest SF version 2.3.0.2, but it can't do much
without crashing, then refusing to load!

I'm using java jre1.5.0_03.
I am running letest version after succesuly performing an update with azureus update system with jre1.5.0_03 without any paroblems for almost a week know. May be the problem is not with the jre you are using

Azureus when first installed loads fine, gives startup wizard etc.
However when it first is asked to download something, even an update, it
crashes! I've found that renaming/deleting the
~/.Azureus/downloads.config helps. At least then Azureus loads!

I have noticed that in the "corrupt" download.config files, that there
seems to be some unprintable/foreign characters near the end: (I don't
know if foreign characters are normal)

A few of my downloads.config files contents:

My downloads.config also has many unreadable charachters in varius places without causing trouble

I haven't seen any other thread about this sort of behaviour in AZ,
normally for others, it either runs or doesn't run!

I've noticed others saying that AZ uses java for networking, so it could
be a java problem. Maybe I should downgrade my java VM, although there
doesn't seem to be another version for amd64....

I think Azureus should print a lot of errors on the console before crashing. Aren't there any useful messages?
