Here is what I did:
edit ./src/gcc/config/i386/t-linux64
$ fakeroot dpkg-buildpackage -b
Unfortunately my edits are undone by the build process. I don't know
how to split the build so that my edit remains.
BTW, the file I have on my system contains:
MULTILIB_OSDIRNAMES = ../lib64 ../lib32
(gcc-4.0_4.0.0-6 source package)
