That is pretty strange.

I don't have anything really useful to add except to say that it is
working great for me.  I did not do anything particularly out of the
ordinary.  But Sid is the unstable kid and I am wondering if this is
just something bad happening right now.  I have not updated for a
while.  So my system is more like sarge than sid at the moment.

At the risk of creating a lot more work for you, which I don't want to
do, I might suggest that you try sarge instead of sid to avoid the
current problems that you are reporting in unstable.

I guess having amd64 following slightly behind sid is sometimes an
